About Viktoria Valenzuela

Viktoria Valenzuela is mother to six children and is married to the Chicano poet Vincent Cooper. She holds a Master of Arts in English literature, creative writing, and social justice from Our Lady of the Lake University. 

Valenzuela is an associate publisher, educator, an inaugural Zoeglossia Fellow, Macondista, and the San Antonio chapter lead of Women Who Submit. She has retired from being the organizer of 100 Thousand Poets for Change: San Antonio, but may return in the future. 

Valenzuela's work is published widely in Every Place on the Map is Disabled, Puro Chicanx Writers of the 21st Century, The Zoeglossia Anthology: We Are Not Your Metaphor, Zocaló Public Square, The Poetry Foundation, Raising Mothers, and Mutha Magazine. Her scholarship and creative writing address contemporary Chicana m(other)hood, Chicana feminism, disability, and social justice issues.
